We don't feed birds in any case anything that contains salt. One grain of salt from salty bakery products can be fatal for small birds like siskin. The birds shouldn't even get too much sugar, fresh bread, cold cuts, or any spoiled food. For winter feeding is perfect sunflower, oatmeal, various seeds, but also apples or potatoes boiled in unsalted water.
